This morning Company 5 was alerted for a vehicle crash on Route 286 at Day Chevy. With an engine and ambulance on the way, more calls were being received at the dispatch center for a vehicle over the hillside.
Ambulance 5-8 arrived first and immediately requested a rescue dispatched. Engine 51 arrived minutes later and initiated command. Crews went over the hill to access the patient approx 50 yards over the hillside and across a small creek.
Rescue 6 arrived and set up a rigging system with a stokes basket to bring the patient up the long hillside. Crews were on scene about 45 minutes and patient was transported to a local trauma center.
