BoBo's 40th BASH

Monday, July 27, 2009  Today, with the amazing help of his wife and family, BoBo celebrated his 40th with a large group of family and friends. Great food, good drink, and good memories were made. We wish BoBo the best on his 40th and hope you had a great time, I know WE all did...

I'm sure several of us are still recouping from the bash for days to follow.

Thanks Again and
Happy B-Day.

WHY A-58 DIDN'T RESPOND TO MVC

Wednesday, July 1, 2009  As seen in the NEWS section of our web page you have probably read about the MVC we responed to and found out the ambulance never arrived from our station.

Well as you see below, THIS is why. While pulling out of the garage, the door decided to get a "mind of it's own" and not allow the ambulance out today for this particular call. We all aren't certain why, but it was effective enough.

We think Tree just got tired of the garage doors and wanted them removed during the nice weather...

SOMETIMES ITS BETTER

Tuesday, June 16, 2009  Writing the stories here, I get a lot of pictures, quips, suggestions and whatnot emailed to me from the guys for stories to place on the website.

I have to say though, that sometimes I get that 1 or 2 pictures that just don't have a story, or a picture that fits the category of "sometimes it's just better I not know"...

This is an example of a "I just DON'T want to know!" kinda picture...

NEWEST LIVE-IN MAKES NEWS

Monday, June 15, 2009  This week #5 accepted a new member to it ranks. Jenny Jesty moved in from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to attend the Center for Emergency Medicine's Paramedic Program.

Well, it just so happens that she hails form the same area as our very own Pittsburgh Penguin Captain Syndey Crosby.

So, today, Jen went down to help celebrate the Pens win and watch the parade and low and behold, has already made the news...

Below is the link where you can see what she did to get ON the news. And for those that DON'T know, the rules are, if you make the news, you have to buy us all a beer!!!! Hope you got a good exchange rate on that Canadian Money Jen!!!!

FIXED UP ROOF SIM

Saturday, May 16, 2009  Today Rip and Stan fixed up our roof simulator for use again and because there will be some out of town FD's training on it at the end of the month.

I think they did a fantastic job, and pretty much showed that #5, indeed, is where the BEST go for training.

Good Job Guys.

WHERES DOOBIE??

Monday, April 20, 2009  Seems lately the question of the week is "Where's Doobie?" Well, we decided to make a game out of it. So folks, where's Doobie?? If you can find him in this picture we will give you a small prize.

OK, there is NO prize, but we WILL wonder why you're spending this much time looking for him...

CRABS, CRABS, CRABS

Tuesday, April 14, 2009  Tonight the guys decided to take a little break from station life. Lt. Hitchen called everyone to let them know one of our eating establishments was having an all-you-can-eat crab night.

Not one to turn down this kind of deal, several of us decided to see how much of a dent in their crab inventory we could make. After we told the waitress to not let a plate get empty, our waitress, with the help of several others kept the crab comming. After about 5-6 (OK a few had more) plates of crab, we decided that we had had enough. Attempting to total the amount, all we could come up with was that we filled a large garbage can full of broken shells.

Special thanks to the staff at the Bella Luna Restaraunt for putting up with us and our shenanegans (no pistol whipping please!!!). It was a great meal and a great time spent together.

SORRY ALL

OK OK, Chips is ALWAYS funny.

Sunday, April 5, 2009  OK ALL,

We do have a lot of stuff comming up, so keep an eye open here. We appreciate the emails and comments, it keeps us on our toes!!!!

And most of all.....Keep Visiting!!!

SMOKE DRILL

Monday, March 30, 2009  Tonight the guys decided to smoke up the station for drill and make a makeshift maze. The guys had a great time and even had a small side drill on how to reset our own fire alarm (yeah, smoke machines will do that!!).

Good job guys keeping up with the training.
